“Spirit
of God, show us the way to Heaven. Without you, we are lost. Even
if we are in the midst of sunlight, we cannot find our way to heaven.
The only way we will make it is by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot take another step. The good news
is that we are not alone. The Holy Spirit is here to help us and
lead us to the path of Jesus. He is a light unto our feet. Those
who stop leaning on God, seeking God, and looking up to Him fall
into a ditch. They suffer and are torn. That is a bad ending. We
all need to have a good ending.
The road we walk on right now, if we continually walk on it…this
road looks like a road of suffering and is very small, but if
we make it all the way to the end, at the end of this road is
a glorious castle. A mansion is waiting for us.
My mother came to live with me when she was almost 80 years old,
in 2000. She was a Buddhist all of her life. When she came to
my house I told her, “Mom, this house only serves Jesus.
Your Buddhist god cannot save you. You need to follow Jesus and
serve God.” I prayed for her. She said, “I will follow
Jesus.” I also told her, “Everyone in this house gets
up early in the morning and prays.” She told me, “I
will pray every morning. When I set my mind to do something, I
always do it.” Once she made that confession, she never
failed. She prayed until her last breath. She walked on the road
of Jesus faithfully for the three years that she was with me.
She prayed about seven hours each day and as she prayed, Jesus
came and visited her. She fought the good fight for all of her
short Christian life. The Lord Jesus came to her and gave her
many visions. Three years later, her life ended, not because of
disease, but because she wanted to be with Jesus. She believed
her time was up. Before she died, she told me, “I have prayed.
I have kept my word. Now I will go and be with Jesus.” Then
she went home.
She had a glorious ending through prayer. She had a little struggle
because she missed her children in South Korea. But she fought
the good fight and walked with God. Thank you, Jesus, that she
is in heaven.
When she was here for those three years, she had the choice to
go and play with other elderly people or travel around and just
have a good time. But she took the road of patience and suffering.
She learned to look up to God and put Him first. She learned to
seek the kingdom of God first and control herself every day of
her life.
One day she said, “I spoke to Jesus and said, ‘Jesus,
take me home. If you take me home, I will fly with You on the
clouds. I will sweep Your house.’” I told her, “Mama,
there is no dust in heaven. You don’t have to sweep.”
She answered, “What I meant to say was just, ‘Take
me home and I’ll do anything You ask me to do.’ I
just want to see heaven and go home.” She wanted to see
the glory of heaven. God honored her prayer. By her choice, she
had a good ending. Until her last breath, she called upon the
name of Jesus and followed the directions of her guardian angels
who led her home.
For her, that was a very glorious moment. One thing I can say,
she had a good ending. She accomplished her assignment. For three
years, she prayed for the nation, for the church, and for people.
By her choice, she took that road and it led her to heaven. The
end of that road was a bright, shining light and everlasting life.
It was waiting for her.
